An Post Delays

We are currently aware of delays with An Post. Some customers are affected more than others & the reason behind it is staffing levels.

A spokesperson for An Post explains: “Covid-19 has accelerated the move to online shopping on top of which there is a huge early rush on Christmas shopping and a move to purchasing everyday essentials online due to the Level 5 retail restrictions.”

“As well as the large volume, public health guidelines such as social distancing mean that extra measures have to be taken in postal depots to ensure the safety of employees. The company said that the current delays are due to the sheer number of post it’s processing, and is not being caused by any staff absent due to Covid-19.”

“There has never been parcel volumes like this, up 130% on the same time last year – a total of 8 million items a week between letters and parcels.”

Other Options Available To You

We know you want your collectibles as fast as possible. So here are some other ways to

• DHL Express delivery – generally 2-day delivery. It does cost extra & will appear as a postage option during checkout. DHL collect our deliveries at 12 pm each day. So any orders received after 11.15 am each day will not dispatch with DHL until the next working day, as we need time to book in the delivery & safely package up your order

• Click & Collect – You will now be able to collect your order from the car park of the Kingswood Lodge in Tallaght.

We have removed the option of €3.50 untracked postage for small light items & replaced it with a tracked An Post service. This is temporary & will return when the Christmas rush ends. Tracking will provide you with peace of mind, that your order is in it’s way to you.

We have 100% faith in An Post & DHL. We do not use any other couriers, as we have tried them in the past & they nearly destroyed our start-up business with their terrible delivery times & high number of missing packages.

Yes, An Post is experiencing delays now, but these guys & gals work their butts off throughout the year, to provide us with an amazing service that we have very rarely ever had any issues with. Plus our postman & postmistress Baiba are super awesome!
